HOW TO BREW

The Info You’re After

V60 POUR OVER

Recommended coffee: The Narrator

Brew time: 4-7 minutes (Dependent on drip)

Grind: Fine (Resemble table salt)

Ratio: 

Coffee 30g 

Water 500G (2.25 cups)  

Steps: To brew the best cup of coffee we recommend using a scale to measure. 


  1. Bring water temp 190°F

  2. Place filter onto V60 and place on top of pitcher or cup.

  3. Pour water into the filter to clean the filter and pitcher. Throw water out 

  4. Scoop 30  grams (~2 tablespoons) of coffee onto filter 

  5. Place pitcher w/ V60 and grinds on set up on scale and Zero out.

  6. Pour 60-90 grams (~2-3 ounces) of water to bloom, just enough to cover ground coffee

  7. Give a light stir w/ spoon or swirl without disturbing filter paper. 

  8. After 30 - 45 seconds, pour to 300 grams (~10.5 ounces) of water until about 1min 15 seconds

  9. Give a light stir w/ spoon without disturbing filter paper

  10. Pour remaining water until 500 (~17.5 ounces) grams is reached with in 30 sec

  11. Wait until filer drains to about 3/4 and give a light swirl and let drip uninterrupted 

  12. Enjoy!

CHEMEX

Recommended coffee: The Narrator, Marla, Tyler  


Brew time: 4-7 minutes (Dependent on drip)

  2. Place filter on top (3ply filter paper facing pouring channel) and pour water into the filter, swirl to clean body Throw water out 

  3. Scoop 30  grams (~2 tablespoons) of coffee onto filter 

  4. Place body w/ grinds onto scale and Zero out.

  5. Pour 60-90 grams (~2-3 ounces) of water to bloom, just enough to cover ground coffee

  6. Give a light stir w/ spoon or swirl without disturbing filter paper. 

  7. After 30 - 45 seconds, pour to 300 grams (~10.5 ounces) of water until about 1min 15 seconds

  8. Give a light stir w/ spoon without disturbing filter paper

  9. Pour remaining water until 500 (~17.5 ounces) grams is reached with in 30 sec

  10. Wait until filer drains to about 3/4 and give a light swirl and let drip uninterrupted 

  11. Check to make sure filter paper is not blocking the pouring channel.

  12. Remove filter with ground coffee.

  13. Enjoy!

FRENCH PRESS

Recommended coffee: Marla and The Narrator 


Brew time: 8-9 minutes 


Grind: Coarse (Resembles polenta)


Ratio: 

Coffee 30g 

Water 500G (2.25 cups)  


Steps: To brew the best cup of coffee we recommend using a scale to measure. 


  1. Bring water temp 190°F

  2. Rinse out french press pitcher with some hot water. Throw water out.

  3. Add 30 grams (~2 tablespoons) of coffee to pitcher

  4. Add 500 (~17.5 ounces) grams of water to pitcher and let sit for 4 min. 

  5. At 4 min stir crust that forms on top with a spoon. Crust will fall to bottom

  6. Scoop remaining foam and floating grinds and throw out.

  7. Wait 4-5 minutes so smaller coffee grinds fall to bottom

  8. Add plunger but DO NOT push all the way down just to surface of coffee  

  9. Gently pour coffee into mug 

  10. Enjoy!

MACHINE DRIP

Brew time: 2-5 minutes (Dependant on machine)


Grind: Medium coarse to medium (a little finer than kosher salt) 


Ratio: 

Coffee 60-75g 

Water 1 Liter 


Steps: To brew the best cup of coffee we recommend using a scale to measure. 

  1. Add 60g (⅓ of a cup) ground  coffee to filter.

  2. Add 1 Liter of water to machine 

  3. Brew and enjoy!
